May I never forget.
Mother,
May I never forget all the
suffering I’ve seen,
May I remember the eyes of misery,
the utter of despair,
and the cry of the hopeless.
I ask you, that it may be engraved
in my soul,
So when I look my eyes in the mirror,
I will know where I stand.
